Flymo is issuing a product recall for the products listed below. Stop using this product immediately.
A defect has been identified that poses a risk of physical injury. The spool cover on affected units may break and be ejected at high speed during operation. This poses a risk of physical injury to the user and bystanders. Do not continue to use this product.
If you have purchased one of the affected products, do not use it again under any circumstances. Follow the instructions on this page to obtain a full refund.

What should I do?

  1. Stop using the product immediately   Switch off and disconnect from the power supply. Do not use the trimmer again.
  2. Keep the product out of reach of others   Do not allow any other person to access or use the trimmer.
  3. Return the product   You may either return the product to the retailer where it was purchased or contact Flymo directly to arrange collection and receive a full refund.

  • Why is this product being recalled?   The spool cover on affected products may break during operation and may be ejected at high speed. This creates a risk of physical injury to the user and to bystanders.
  • Which products are affected?   The recall applies to the corded Trimmers Flymo SimpliTrim 230, item number 9708376-01, and the Flymo SimpliTrim 230 Plus, item number 9708377-01.
  • How can I check whether my product is affected?   Check the product number on the rating label located on the bottom of the handle. If the number is 9708376-01 or 9708377-01, your product is affected by this recall.
  • Are all Flymo SimpliTrim products affected?   No. This recall applies only to the SimpliTrim 230 and SimpliTrim 230 Plus products with the item numbers listed above. The 18V Battery Trimmers are not affected by this issue.
  • What should I do if I own an affected product?   Please stop using the product immediately and stick to the recall process to get a refund.
  • Can I continue using the product if it has worked without any problems?   No. Do not use an affected product again under any circumstances, even if it has worked normally so far.
  • What is the safety risk?   If the spool holder breaks, the spool cover may be released and strike the user or another person nearby.
  • How can I return the product?   You may return the product through the retailer from which you purchased it, or contact Flymo to arrange a direct return. If returning directly to Flymo, home collection can also be arranged.
  • Will I receive a refund?   Yes. A full refund is available after the affected product has been returned and the applicable return requirements have been completed.
  • Do I need proof of purchase?   In case you still have it, please send it back as well. If you do not have it anymore, please contact Customer.services@husqvarna.co.uk
  • Do I have to pay for collection or return shipping?   No. Collection by Flymo is free of charge. A free return shipping label and box can also be provided on request.
  • Can the product be repaired instead of returned?   The current recall remedy is return of the affected product and a full refund. Do not attempt to repair or continue using the product.
  • Can I receive a replacement product instead of a refund?   The published recall documents specify a full refund as the remedy. They do not specify a replacement option.
