    Skinny Jean Gardener:

    It’s Hover week!

In this blog I’ll be talking about my love of Flymo’s hover mower - with us since 1964!

You may have read before that Flymo have been in my family for years, last year I, with the help of Flymo, even got my Nan a new one for her birthday as she was such a big fan.

For the past year and a half I’ve been using my Flymo robotic lawnmower, so my hover has actually been hanging up in the shed, but as it is #HoverWeek I thought I’d bring it out in celebration, and I can’t tell you how excited I was to use it.

I didn’t think I missed cutting the lawn with one, but actually I loved it, it bought back that feeling of achievement and the smell of cut grass that I hadn’t experienced in a while. The reason I really love the Flymo hover is because it’s designed to make it easy from start to finish.

The one I use in my garden is an Easi Glide 300, which is perfect for medium sized lawns. As soon as I got it out of the box it was ready to go, and folds up so it never takes up too much room in my shed, in fact in my shed it hangs on the wall. For such a usually big piece of equipment I can say it never gets in my way. It’s got a handle that makes it easy to carry down the garden and collects plenty of grass by compacting it down in the collector. It’s more of the hover motion that makes this, dare I say, a fun activity to do in the garden as it just makes it easy and not too much effort.

Once done you can really see that difference. I suppose that’s what the robotic can’t do as it's constantly cutting the lawn, whereas with Flymo hover you have some grass to cut so you can definitely see the change in the garden.

I’ve always thought that you should be able to cut you lawn for whatever sized garden you have, and I recently got the chance to test out the Hove Vac 250, which is a slightly smaller machine, but just as powerful. It’s for small to medium gardens, but worked well on my own. A few bits to put together out the box, but nothing to worry about, and again just incredible how it folds up ready for storage. And I just love this 250 and gave a fantastic cut.

That’s what I love about hover, there literally is one for any sized garden that will work for you, so no wonder they’ve been around for such a long time, and no wonder we give them a whole week to celebrate this incredible design!
