Protecting the environment is something that should be top of everyone’s agenda. Each week, in the UK, we’re reminded by facts and figures in the news about our ever growing carbon footprint. This, accompanied by warnings about the damaging effects of some products on the atmosphere, the state of our ecosystem, and the predicted effects of global warming can leave us feeling a bit overwhelmed – but nevertheless Britain is acting.
Going green with everyday consumer goods is easier than you may think. With the environment in mind, it’s great to see so many of us using products that are now environmentally friendly. It’s this kind of smart thinking that can really make a difference and more and more brands are now offering green alternatives.
Innovations ranging from energy-saving lightbulbs and solar panels to electric cars, the UK is becoming increasingly aware of its impact on the environment and here at Flymo, we ensure that the products we are offering to customers, right down to the way they are produced is as environmentally friendly as possible.
More recently, we’ve furthered our emphasis onto providing quality battery machines to go with our corded electric range. Eco friendly battery products from Flymo include:
The EasiCut Cordless 500 & 420 hedge trimmers, the SabreCut XT Cordless 18V hedgetrimmer, the Flymo Contour Cordless 24V and XT grass trimmers and of course the Flymo Robotic Lawnmower 1200 R.
Needless to say, cordless products have a wealth of benefits including:
• Zero emissions
• Less maintenance than petrol products
• Low noise
• Typically, lighter than petrol based machines
• Freedom to roam around the garden without worrying about a cord
• Flymo batteries are interchangeable between machines of the same voltage
In 2014 we released the Flymo Robotic Lawnmower 1200 R, a mower that works unassisted in rain or shine, silently going about its business without emitting any fumes.
What makes the Flymo Robotic Lawnmower 1200 R particularly green is the fact that daily mowing and mulching of the grass, means there is no need to dispose of clippings. The grass clippings are so small that they can be distributed back into your lawn working as a natural fertiliser, without even being noticed, helping promote a healthier, greener lawn.
Robotic mowing is an environmentally friendly way of gardening; it uses little energy and has zero emissions, as well as eliminating grass waste. With a working area of 400m2, lawns can look great without a gardener.
Are you switching to greener options with the products around your home?
This year may well be the right time to switch from corded to cordless.
